State Park update So I once said they were going to try to close our State parks... now they are only going to close certain parks and then certain things in the other parks. I hope they get Patterson out of office soon! Near me they are closing the pools in both the parks.

I just read an article in our local paper. They are talking about shortening the hours of the parks or having them closed on certain days. Last year the library was closed on mondays to save money.

It is always terrible to hear about closing parks. It does seem that more and more people are using them. Even the small local parks. Kids playing basketball instead of causing trouble somewhere. People walking, getting exercise. People just relaxing. All good things. But instead of all the politicians cutting back on their pay (they make way too much in my opinion) and keeping the good things going. They are cutting back on parks as they don't bring in enough money. Very sad.

The parks and pools would be a great place for some of that stimulus money for the summer time jobs.
