Default Taking The Dog?

I'm sure a lot of us take our dogs along with us on camping trips. What I want to know is what do you use for those ticks that just will not give up! I use Revolution for flea and tick control but it seems he brings them back on his fur and when they jump off of him (I'm sure because of the Revolution), they crawl on us-ick! Any suggestions?

This is a great topic and I wish I knew the answer. I wanted to reply so that I could find it again and read others. We have problems right at home trying to keep bugs off our dog, especially when it's really hot out.

I wish I had an answer for you but we have been having problems with fleas and ticks at home this year. I just gave our dog revolution for the first time last month...not impressed. She had fleas again within two weeks. I am going back to advantage next month.

The only thing you can do it to wash the dog when you get home and before you take him in the house. It has been so hot and wet where I live we have had our share of fleas and ticks. While you're camping there isn't a whole lot I could think of that would help.

You could try finding a powder made from lavender, lemongrass and geranium. A Chinese herbalist made this up for us and it helps keep the ticks away. Something in the herbs repels them.
