This is great, thank you. I should have had some sort of repellent with me on my hike yesterday, but I honestly didn't think about it. I was too excited to get moving.

Been using that for a while now and it's definitely great.

As long as its permethrin and it says tick repellent then you should be fine. I use Sawyers.

Agree completely, Sarge. I haven't had a tick bite for the five years I've been using the stuff.

I am definitely going to have to get some of this stuff then. We can't even go out in the backyard without someone having at least one on them. Just got one off my daughter yesterday...ugh!

I have only used the spray, with excellent results. But a hiker friend found a soak that he claims is easier to use. If this works as well as he claimed, it would be much easier to do a large batch of clothing at once in a bucket.

Sawyer Permethrin Soak Treatment Kit | www.chinookmed.com

While trying to find suppliers, this site had bulk quantities,

PERMETHRIN CLOTHING SOAK 6 OZ

How about dogs, what do you use to protect them? I use Frontline monthly, does anyone use anything different or better?

yeah, i'm also wondering about dogs. i don't want to put anything toxic on them. i give my dog heartworm medication in the event she does get bit, but it would be nice to have something to prevent the bites in the first place so i don't have to spend a bunch of time removing ticks from her when i get back home...
