From personal experience, with more than two kids, I found the "Nature Memory Game" was a popular choice that involved the camping environment, and for just down-time, card games were a winner. The kids especially liked "Slap-Jack" and UNO.

And for really young kids, for nature - Leaf rubbings can be fun, and for just playtime - Blowing Bubbles was an all-time big hit!

Thanks for the link. I have 2 kids, 4 and 8, a boy and a girl. I am looking for things to do int the down time. I want to teach them about wild plants but I am not sure if the 4 year old would be able to handle it.
