Default What's the youngest camper you have taken with you?

We are thinking about planning a Fall camping trip and my youngest will be about 6 months old. What is the youngest you have taken a child camping?

My oldest daughter was 6 months on a backpack in the Sawtooths of Idaho. For campground stays, it would be any age. Really don't remember the youngest but it would be weeks old, I'm sure.

3 months everyone kept her busy so Mom never burned out. She slept in a small basinet with a net to keep bugs away. She slept alot and got use to the noise fast. We had about 30 friends and family at camp.

Well we've never had anyone that young with us. But, we have been camping in several different campgrounds and have seen some very young ones around. Some looked only to be a few months old. Guess they were enjoying it though. Never really heard them crying a lot or anything.

Eight weeks with my first child. It would probably have been sooner, but I needed that long to recover from the C-section well enough to be able to sleep on the ground.

We haven't really taken any young babies with us but I would also say that as long as you are staying in a nice campground facility it should be ok to take young babies. That is if you have room to tote everything that needs to go along with them on a trip.

I think we waited to about 6 months of age. Weather was the majot consideration though, it gets HOT in Texas.

We started our little ones at 6 months. We probably would have started at 3 months, but the way their birthdays fell with the weather made it 6 months minimum.

We started when our kids were 2 and 4. Those were not the easiest ages to camp with kids but they did learn to love camping. We still take them today and then can't wait for our trips.
