Default Get a third key?

I want to get a third spare key for my sister in case she needs to drive it. I want to know how much usually the spare key cost and how long does it take to order one from the dealership.

Third key for what? I mean you have to be more specific so people can help you out. I would call the dealership and ask what the cost and wait time will be. I guess it shouldn't matter what the wait time is right? You already have 2 other keys she can use until it gets there.

Depends on how far you live from Wal Mart, around $2.

Hi...

I hope that you don't mean the electronic "key"...that will be quite pricey.

$6. And it only takes a few minutes to order one from the dealership.

Spare key?- Walmart - $2.00. Electronic Key - depends on the make and model of your car (I'm assuming that's what we are talking about here). The last electronic key I had made was for a chrylser - $85.00. Call the dealership first.

Good thinking! My buddies daughter lost one of her keys a while back. she misplaced her other key recently. Now the vehicle itself had to be reprogrammed to the new set of keys. Total cost was around $350.

They can program key chips at Ace hardware now. No need to go to a dealership.

Wow really. I will have to go check this out because I recently lost one of my truck keys. I still have my spare but now that is the only one I have.

Blanks for the keys with the chip can be purchased on Ebay for less than half what a dealer will want as well. Friend of mine got on for 12 bucks where the dealer was charging 40. Then had it cut and programmed at ACE for 2 bucks like Lambeaver stated.
