Default Suggestions for 9 yr old....

All of my boys have dirtbikes. My daughter is at the age where she wants to join in with the boys. Would you think that a dirtbike or a 4 wheeler would be safer / easier for her to ride? Any suggestions???

How old were your boys when they got their first dirtbikes?

I would make sure you think she's old enough, but I would say you should seriously consider getting her a dirtbike instead of a 4-wheeler. That way she can go on the same trails as her brothers, and she won't be singled out because she's a girl.

Girls are made pretty tough, too, you know. I have a 6-year-old niece who enjoys rock climbing. She's as strong as an ox, and still enjoys being a princess for halloween.

I think that dirt bikes are a little safer than 4 wheelers. If a 4 wheeler tips over, she wouldn't be able to get it off of her. A dirt bike isn't as heavy.

I agree with the general idea here-- a dirt bike is the better option on all levels. It's lighter and allows quicker movement. I'd also think about how old your boys were and gauge your choice on that as well.

The boys were about 10 when they got their first dirt bike. We actually looked at a golf cart for her, but decided against it. I think that would be safest because they can't go as fast. I guess we are trying to protect our daughter from any dangers even though she sees her brothers riding all the time.
