Default Longest Bike Ride

What is the longest bike ride you have been on? I've only been bike riding for a few hours, but my uncle just went on a bike ride that was supposed to be the entire west coast of the US - the top of Washington to the bottom of California. He took a month to do it.

In a single day; 102 miles in 6 hours and 27 minutes. It was an endurance race run along Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. There were hills, curves, short straights, and checkpoints for validation. I won.

Wow, that's great! I'm impressed because when I'm on my bike I am always nervous about every little hill. I love to hear stories about biking but I don't think I could last that long!

Bristol Ct. to Winooski Vt. to S. Miami, Fl 33 years ago. Averaged 85 miles a day up North and 140 down south in the flats. Now at age 52 I mountain bike a lot, and road ride a little.
Good on your uncle, Telna. A guy at work has a brother, just retired, rode from Texas to Alaska, now is headed to the West coast of the US. Hope to be that good when my time to retire comes. Very motivating, considering many people drive to the mailbox.

Not a lot for me. I have thousands of miles on bikes but never attempted any substantial distance in one shot. As a teenager I must have averaged 30 miles a day but that was my method of transportation. It wasn't recreational. As an adult I'm going to say 20 miles as a single ride.

Longest ride for me was RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) in 1986. We rode from Council Bluffs to Muscatine (479 miles) over 7 days. It was a great trip but I'm not sure I am up to anymore.
