Default Another ATV Death

We were sitting here last week and heard the ambulance being called out. Seems an ATV had wrecked the next hollow over from ours and the person had to be lifeflighted out. Gentleman was drunk and the ATV had turned over on him. I'm not against someone having something to drink, but for gosh sakes, stay at home or have someone else drive you somewhere if you get a wild hair.

Guy is at our local trauma hospital, he hasn't died yet but I don't know how badly he was hurt.

That is the one thing about them that some people just don't get, you can get seriously hurt or killed on them and when I see small children driving with mom and dad laughing it almost makes be cringe! They can turn over and goodness driving one while drunk??

I know, Linda. It really scares me when they're all out mud running and it's kids under the age of 10. Mud running is fun, but you really have to be careful and I don't know a child yet who would qualify for "careful". Heck, it's hard for adults to be careful on an ATV, let alone someone who is impaired.

Unfortunately, he has probably already sired children perpetuating his gene line.

A friend of mine had his cousin killed in the same manner, it was a few months ago out in the area where all the riders go between CA and AZ, the dunes?? I think its just stupid that people still do this sort of thing, its not like its new anymore its been going on for years. Wise up!

Natural selection at work I guess, but Grandpa is probably right and his genes are still running around. I guess that may sound cold, but it's all about survival and anyone who isn't family (and even some who are) are just competition.

Can you be cited for drunk driving if you are driving drunk on an ATV. I think that you should be considering how dangerous drunk driving an ATV is.

Knew a guy that was seen sipping a frosty beverage while he mowed a widow's lawn on his riding mower. When he finished he started down the street to his own house and got hit with a dui on his mower. So I would think driving an ATV while under the influence shpuld be a lot more serious than a lawn mower.
