Changing oil

How often do you change your oil and brake fluid in your ATV? I swear my husband just did this a couple of months ago and said it needs it again. He asked me to pick up another oil filter. We have not even ridden them that many hours yet.

ATV's or any motor that operates in dirty conditions needs oil changes often. Oil has two enemies, heat and dirt. If you ride them hard, the heat buildup will break down the oil very fast. If you ride them in dirty conditions, the filters will only remove so much dirt. Fresh oil and filters are cheap insurance against the alternative.

I'm one of those women who learned to change the oil the hard way. I just ignored it until the red light came on when I was several states away and I had to be towed. We had to replace the engine in our car because I was so ignorant. I change the stuff now.

Better to change too often than not enough.
Heat, dirt and water are enemies of any machine.
When in doubt, change it!!
