Default Experience needed?

My family and I owned horses when I was a kid. I remember that we would go horseback riding on trails every camping trip. I would like to start riding trails again, but I don't have the time for lessons. Do you have to have much experience to go trail riding?

Trail riding has certain hazards that you wouldn't encounter in an arena, but I would think if you rode as a kid you should be fine. Horseback riding to me is like riding a bike - once you get back on it will all come back to you. If you're uncomfortable at first, get together with some more experienced riders and start out with them before you go on your own.
