Default Gift for a new horse owner
My 13-year-old niece got a horse for Christmas. She's having to muck out stalls, feed and water her new friend. What is a good birthday present I can give her that relates to her horse that costs under a hundred dollars? I've already given her lots of horse books for Christmas.

A quality rope halter with a long matching lead rope with no hardware on it. Not a flat nylon halter. This is the horseman's teaching tool that can be used to ride with after some practice.

Or a gift certificate to a good feed store.
