Default Hadn't ridden for years until...!

I didn't realise how out of shape I was until my step sister took me riding on a visit to Britain last year. I have ridden in Texas but it was years ago and the unfamiliar saddle didn't help. I had so many aches!

I have done that a few times to myself and each time I swear its never going to happen again. I wish there was more time in the day to squeeze in all the things we like between our crazy work lives.

I hadn't ridden for about 15 years when my daughter asked me to go on an hour's hack with her. Well, I loved it but I dismounted on the way back for a call of nature, and my legs were like jelly! I couldn't mount again and had to walk back, leading my horse. Very embarrassing!

I can't imagine going more than a week without riding. I rarely go more than a few days mostly. I give you this though, an unfamiliar saddle, especially a side saddle or otherwise too large or small of a saddle makes for rough riding no matter how seasoned of a rider you are.
