Shareboarding

Does anyone share a horse and the associated expenses with other people, maybe even strangers? I really want a horse but the time and expense of owning my own is not feasible at this point. A few people have recommended that i look into shareboarding but I have no idea how to even go about this idea.

I'm curious if anyone has done this and how it worked out?

When we were running a lot of cattle, the guys who had horses for hunting would give them to us to use during the summers. We, of course, fed and cared for them and kept them working all summer so they were toughened up for the hunting season that fall. win win, we had enough horses to work the cattle without buying them and they had toughened horses for the fall hunts.

That would seem like an awesome idea if it works for everyone around. I would love to get into something like that one day when I get my own place or at least a place larger than this one. Too many times people have to give up their animals and I bet most never even thought of something like this.
