This ship came out of the fog on a rainy morning in the Charleston, SC Harbor. Singing was heard before you could see the ship. Part of the semi-annual tall ships expo that I dragged two close friends to in the pouring rain. I believe that the port of registry was Columbia. It was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life since I love big sailing vessels and the Spirit of South Carolina had just been built and was on view for the first time to the public. Their mission is to take young people out to sea.
