I was wondering about the Tasco ES8X42 companion or even the other pocket mountain for hunting. I love my els but could cut a pound off if I switched. Any thoughts would be appriciated. Thanks

I have a pair of Vortex Raptor 10x32 and some leica 8x20's. I use them for timber hunting. I chose these binocular because I have narrow pupils, and so most binoculars do not fit my eyes properly. I was concerned that some users claimed that it did not sit on their face properly, and they had to hold it unsupported from their eyes

These] 8x32 are a nice choice in that price range. Fairly compact and light with a good optical view. I own two of the Celestron Nature DX binoculars along with two Vortex Diamondback HD models in higher magnifications that I use on a tripod. The difference in the Diamondbacks is the construction material that can handle a little more abuse and the lifetime warranty. But of course you're paying more for those. The optics are very similar.
