A passing motorist noticed a nice bull elk caught in a roadside fence about a mile from here. The bull had a hay tarp wrapped up in his antlers with the rest of the tarp caught in the barb wire fence. I called the sheriffs office and during the half hour it took for a deputy to arrive, another neighbor got hold of fish and game. They are coming with a tranquilizer to free the animal. Its a good thing the motorist had a good eye because it looked like the bull had been trapped there for a couple of days.

You can tell a lot about a society by how they treat animals.

Elk is fine and was able to continue merrily on his way.

I guess I am wrong, crude, country trashy etc. Gotta be honest though that elk would have continued merrily on MY way to my freezer.

That is cool they did that. If I had the freezer space, I may have to agree with Cappy. Glad to hear they got it out ok. Must have took some work for sure.
