I was a little cooler past few days so we took a short hike we've never done before. Luckily the gnats weren't bad enough for the head nets, I hate both of them. For some reason they love to head straight for the juicy parts of your eyeballs,,,! The first 1/2 mile of the trail was fairly easy walking cause it was an old road bed. The trail started to get narrower just before we got to a metal foot bridge. After the bridge the trail was more rugged, and now it was getting more interesting. There were small pools every here and there, so cooling off wasn't a problem.20180825_082603.jpeg20180825_085011.jpeg20180825_085046.jpeg20180825_085017.jpeg20180825_085215.jpeg20180825_085606.jpeg20180825_085815.jpeg20180825_091204.jpeg20180825_085855.jpeg

Sorry if pics are a little wanky. These are sre the rest of the pics after the bridge. These loose rocks that covered part of the trail are from the cliffs crumbling down. You can see the top of the cliff through the trees near top of picture 3rd picture. Sort looks like the top of a castle jutting up into the sky. When we got ready to leave, and I got a chill from slinging the pack on my sweaty back "I knew I loved it"!20180825_090229.jpeg20180825_090344.jpeg20180825_092422.jpeg

Thanks for sharing, Looks like a nice walk. We are still a few weeks away from that sort of thing but eagerly waiting and getting ready.
