Back in the 1970s, there was a state mental hospital in Sedro outside Seattle. Funding ran out and the nuts were turned loose. For 40 years my brother and I always drove around the town.
Last week I went up North to visit family. My auntie and I ended up in Sedro Wooley, and I explined my story to the local people that got a big laugh out of it. An old logging town with friendly people, home-baked bread and pies, and a certain old-timey charm it was great to be back.
