Growing up in Georgia, I recall taking many trips out into the deep country with my dad to go fishing. I know plenty more people who remember the same types of trips being some of the finest years of their youth, as well as adulthood. This is definitely fun when you get the hang of it and surprisingly, is one of the few outdoor activities that is considered a sport and holds tournaments worldwide.
Nothing can compare to a father teaching his child how to fish. Teaching them you can’t be afraid or grossed out by the bait used. For a father, nothing can beat the joy you have when seeing your son or daughter catch their first fish. All of this can be achieved by a day of fishing on the lake.
I recommend a fishing trip, even if you don’t have any children. Head out to the lake for a weekend with some of your buddies. Knock back a couple of beers and soak in the great outdoors. It can truly be one of the most relaxing and at the same time, exciting, activities you will ever experience. Enjoy the calm tranquility of the water and wildlife surrounding you. Don’t get too relaxed though, you might end up losing a pole.
Reeling in a fish can be one of the most adrenaline fueled outdoor activities known to man. As you as you feel that tug on the line you beginning to position yourself according to how big the fish is. Fishing isn’t as easy as it looks, though. You have to be very careful when reeling in a fish because if the fish it too big or strong, the line will snap and you will be forced to reline your rod, if you didn’t forget to bring the extra line.
One of the most important factors that goes into fhe sport is making sure you packed everything you need. Mostly, these trips tend to be an hour or so away from home and it would be devastating to learn upon your arrival at your destination that you forgot to bring the poles, or something such as substantial as that. No matter how many times you’ve been fishing; it’s always good to create a checklist so you don’t forget anything.
Generally, you can spot a skilled fisher right away judging by their tackle box. The bigger the box, the bigger the chances you have of catching something. Different fish go for different baits based on the species of fish, the location of it’s habitat and the size of the fish. Some fish won’t go for the tasty worm, but instead go for the neon colored, polka dotted, frizzy haired bait. As silly as it sounds, sometimes, this is true.
If you are looking to add a little more action and suspense into your fishing agenda; create a competition for who can catch the most or the biggest fish. Although it is generally thought to be dull, it is only as boring as you make it to be. Create a reward for the victor or even emit them from clean-up duties. You can do anything you want as long as it’s safe, legal and fun.
