Fishing lovers can take advantage of the Weiss Lake. This awesome body of water provides more than 36,000 acres of fishing along the banks of the famous Coosa River. This grand fishing area is located only 20 miles from the park, and there are 426 miles of beautiful shoreline for visitors to enjoy.
Non- experienced golfers will appreciate the 9 hole golf course at this magical park. The layout of the course is short, and it provides a good chance of everyone scoring a hole in one. The golf course is open daily from 9:00am to 5:30pm each day. The Desoto Golf Course is only about 7 miles away from the park entrance.

Desoto Resort State Park provides numerous grills and picnic tables throughout the grounds, so a great meal can be prepared and served in no time flat. A modest fee of $1 is charged for use of the picnic areas. Visitors have access to a pool, a volleyball court, and ball fields. There are also several picnic shelters that can be easily reserved for use in the picnic area. While enjoying a picnic, visitors can also send the kids a short distance to a play area. The little tikes can enjoy a wonderful playground while the adults watch from close by. There is no need for boredom for the park’s youngest visitors.

There are many tasty menu items to feast on in this lovely place. Diners can enjoy a wonderful seafood buffet on Friday nights.
