Percy Quin State Park is located on 2036 Percy Quin Drive in McComb, Mississippi. This is one of the original parks in the state’s system dating back to its construction in the 1930’s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Admission to this place is only $3 per vehicle per day, but visitors can also get a daily activity pass for $10 that includes all areas of the park and includes the admission fee as well. For families, there is boating and fishing to be done, or a quiet picnic by the lake can be enjoyed by those less adventurous. An eight mile nature trail encircles Lake Tangipahoa and can be traversed by nature lovers and those out for just a romantic stroll.
There are one hundred twenty two campsites at Percy Quin State Park and they range from the primitive tent only style to the kind with full electrical and water hookups. Rates are set in accordance with the amount of “luxury” that is include with the site and are $14 at the low end to $22 on the high side. For those visitors less inclined to rough it, cabins can be rented as well and include a kitchen, bathroom with shower, and central heat/air. They cost $50/75 per night on weekdays and $60/85 on the weekends.
The nine unit motel that provides a scenic view of Lake Tangipahoa can also be leased for visitors who prefer a more modern accommodation.
