The 1200 acre State Park known as Lyman Lake has an elevation of 6,000 feet. The sheer size of Lyman Lake in Arizona makes it able to welcome boats of any size. There is no size limit on boats that are allowed on the lake. People with big boats are welcome to float in for fun just like the rest of the world. The fishing on the lake is known for its bountiful yields. Walleye, largemouth bass, and catfish are some of the main catches of the day for fishermen lucky enough to make their way onto Lyman Lake.
In the summer the temperatures around the lake reach the 80’s and 90’s. This makes it prime weather for swimming, boating, hiking, or any other kind of outdoor activity someone might want to engage in. Visitors quickly come to appreciate a 1,128 sq. ft. camping area that has numerous amenities for campers. Campers will find plenty of outdoor advantages to work with, including a boat dock, heat, picnic tables and barbecue area, as well as water, electrical outdoors, and lighting that is both indoors and outdoors. The camping areas can be as rugged or as friendly as guests want them to be. No matter what kind of camping experience you’re after, you can enjoy it to the fullest when you visit Lyman Lake state park.
If you’re not planning to camp in a camping area, don’t worry about it. Visitors can reserve one of four 1 room cabins that overlook the lake. The comfort of these cabins gives every family a sense of warmth and oneness with the great outdoors. People can reach the cabins by car or RV and will find that there are picnic areas outside as well as comfortable cots for guests. There can be no more than six people that room in the cabin at any one time.
The specifications for RV camping sites are easy to understand. Visitors should be aware that there are 61 camping sites available for those that have a RV. After settling into whatever living quarters you’ve chosen, you’ll find several trails to begin your adventure on, one of the most popular of which is the Rattlesnake Pointe Pueblo trail. This area was originally a village that housed 15 families as far back as 1390 and 1325 A.D. The history of this area is stunning for people that take the full tour and learn about it as much as is fully possible.
Other trails include Peninsula Petroglyph, a mild climbing area that gives almost everyone the opportunity to enjoy a good climb. The Ultimate Petroglyph trail is a half mile long and is more challenging to guests, though still very fun and more well-suited to those that need something a little rougher.
