Burton Creek State Park is perfect for the hiker who is looking for a more secluded locale. Located at northeast side of Tahoe City, Burton Creek State Park is a beautiful destination to take in the wonder of California’s scenery.

The park has a trail that encompasses 2,000 acres of natural and very secluded hiking paths. The paths are very simple for now; but the park has plans to develop these further in the near future. Meanwhile the park is perfect for anyone that is looking to hike and camp in a secluded destination.

There are numbers posted to help show where you are on the paths trails. While the trails are more dirt paths than real “trails”, they are present. The entire 2,000 acres is available to explore and enjoy.

Burton Creek State Park is so natural and simplified that it offers the hiker and trail blazer the exact perfect location for exploration is the wonderful scenery that so encompasses this area of California. It is very primitive. If you have a map and know how to enjoy this sort of location though, you can certainly enjoy the park far more than any other crowded state park anywhere on the globe. Take in the tress and fresh air. Note the animals that will cross your path on the hike.

Be sure to have all of the basics that would be required of any hiker in a primitive area. Always play it safe. If you do that, you will find that this state park is just what you are looking for. There are two entrances that are for guest to the park. The first is Bunker Drive. Parking is available for guests there. The second is Tamarack Lodge which is located nearby the park, but lacks easy access.

There are several lodges and campgrounds available nearby. The Tamarack Lodge is a great choice. It is more upscale at the 5 star rating level of Lodges. It is right next to the park.
