Gorilla Greyback Climber: A Hunter’s Best Friend

The Gorilla Greyback Climber has hunter-friendly features. The completely adjustable backpack straps make it easy to get a comfortable fit. It has a rock-solid steel construction that is rated for up to 300 pounds. Hunters will like the camouflaged bar for climbing with its comfy padding. The climber also has easy to use climbing straps. The seat area is 18 inches by 12 inches, and it is adjustable with the straps. The padded upper arms add even more comfort for a day in the tree, and even better, the arms pivot for fitting that perfect tree. The climber has two handy and detachable gear bags. The Gorilla Greyback Climber also includes a full-body harness for a hunter’s complete safety. The weight of the climber is 27 pounds. The backrest size is 12 inches by 20 inches, and the platform size is 18 inches by 30 inches.

This climber is a good deal because of the cost and quality. It will definitely fit anyone’s budget, as the Gorilla Greyback Climber has a cost of only $160 to $200. If cost is an issue, do not be afraid of this stand as it is extremely strong and sturdy. This stand is quiet and feels safe, and it is great for the price. The climber can be a little uncomfortable at first until the netting is stretched out, but after a few uses it is pretty comfortable. Climbs and descents are easy while standing or sitting. It is compact once the climber is packed for transport.

The detachable side bags are great for keeping gear out of pockets. Keep hunting accessories such as doe scent, gloves, mask, flashlight, and retrieval rope, just to name a few, in these gear bags. The bags give a hunter easy access and quick convenience for all the extras.

It is a good idea to practice installing, removing, adjusting and using the climbing tree stand at ground level before using it on location while hunting. Do this in lowlight conditions, also. Hunting in lowlight happens all the time, and a hunter needs to be ready. Become familiar with all the Gorilla Greyback Climber features. After practice, set up is a piece of cake, and there is a square guide on the cables. No worry about the loop spinning when placing the pin in.

Before using this product while hunting place the platform on the floor and stand and walk on it. This eliminates any creaks or settling sounds that might startle deer. After this, it should be relatively quiet after installation.

For installation, pick a tree that is 8 inches to 20 inches in diameter and make sure that the tree is straight and healthy with no loose or diseased bark. Inspect the tree all the way around. Check for nails or other sharp objects that might damage the climber. Never attach the Gorilla Greyback Climber to limbs.

Drawbacks are few. The backpack straps are rather skimpily padded. It has a narrow seating area which is not padded at all. This climber might not be the best choice for a larger hunter. A person might not like having to strap their feet into position with bungee cord, and some hunters find it to be a little on the heavy side.

Overall, the Gorilla Greyback Climber is a well-built, compact, sturdy tree stand. It allows for maximum versatility and mobility in the woods, and the price cannot be beat. On a scale of 1 to 5, it would rate a 4 with most hunters.
