Ruger SR-22

The Ruger SR-22 is a great rifle to consider. It has a long barrel on it and that is why it is so good for training efforts. In fact, you will find that the AR-15 template is followed. Therefore, it is a common rifle used for training for military forces and for police academies. This is also an excellent gun to use for small game hunting.

This rifle offers all of the options of the Ruger SR-556 does but it is more affordable.
These options include a pistol grip, collapsible stock, and picatinny rail for various mounting applications including optics and lights. Those picatinny rails can be swapped out for shorter versions. They can also be mounted on the bottom for the use of lights and other tactical gear.

The action in this rifle was designed after the legendary Ruger 10-22. That happens to be the most durable, reliable, semi automatic 22 caliber rifle ever made. The Ruger SR-22 uses the same rotary style magazines which can be found in ten shot factory or all the way up to one hundred round rotary style drums.

That is if you buy them after market. There are many different accessories that you can add to your rifle too. This allows you to customize it so that you can get the look and the handling that you prefer. Such flexibility only further adds to the overall value of this great rifle.

The butt stocks and grips can be traded out too. In fact, you can use any that are AR style compatible. There is a barrel support block installed that is going to help with accuracy. You can choose to install the V block barrel if you would like to. The round hand guard that helps to release heat from the barrel area.

The receiver is built from air craft grade aluminum. The barrel is made from hammer forged steel. Both offer a black matte finish that is very handsome. The stock on the Ruger SR-22 offers a black finish. You will enjoy the visual appearance of this particular rifle.

The unique design of the Ruger SR-22 makes it a rifle that stands out from the crowd. At the same time though the design is ergonomically correct. You can be confident that you will be using it in a manner that isn’t going to be detrimental to your body. If you plan on using this rifle often, that is certainly a benefit.

Another great option is a spring folding bipod. The butt stock and the hand guard are both studded for attaching slings. You can get flashlights, tactical fiber optic sights, laser sights, and other fantastic accessories for it. You can mix and match items to create the type of rifle you want for given uses.

If you have any plans to show off your skills, Ruger has a firearm challenge out there that involves the use of the Ruger SR-22. The MSRP for this rifle is $625 which is very reasonable for all of the value that it brings. On a scale of 1 to 5, it gets a 5 due to the versatility, handling, and the overall design. Ruger certainly didn’t disappoint with the SR-22 model!
