Trapping is hardly something people have only recently discovered. People have been trapping animals for centuries. While most realize this was done for the purpose of acquiring food and clothing, many may not realize that entire economies were built on the back of trapping game. The entire world has a deep and rich culture for trapping but this does not mean we are all built with an innate knowledge of how to effectively trap game. That is why The Trapper’s Bible: Traps, Snares & Pathguards by Dale Martin is such a tremendous work. Martin has gone to great lengths to develop a brilliant work that covers all the basics needed to improve your skills and knowledge at trapping.

Keep one thing in mind, however, this particular book cannot be considered the most comprehensive of all the trapping books on the market. This is not an encyclopedia on the subject. Although not the definitive text on the subject, this work is assuredly an excellent one in terms of presenting the subject matter it does cover in a highly detailed manner.

What exactly does the book cover? You could say the title tells all. The Trapper’s Bible: Traps, Snares & Pathguards delves very deeply into the basics of simple traps, snares, and pathguards. These would be the common components that successful trapping is based on. The topics are presented in a very clear manner. Those that may be new to the subject of trapping will find this to be a solid introductory text covering scores of intelligent basic points.

Does that mean that those seeking a little extra depth in the subject need to look elsewhere? No, that is not the case at all. The Trapper’s Bible: Traps, Snares & Pathguards by Dale Martin offers several engaging fine points that even long time fans and practitioners of trapping and snaring will find informative and enlightening. Success with trapping is all about progressing forward and seeking improvement. This book will definitely help you work towards attaining such a goal.

One reason that this particular book is able to deliver on expectations is thanks in large part to the tremendous photographs included in this volume. Grainy, poorly composed photos are common in older volumes that covered “How To” subject matter. This is not longer the case today as evidenced by the excellent photo illustrations found in Dale Martin’s excellent work. The clarity of the images in this trapper’s guide ensures you can follow along with the directions for crafting top notice snares, pathguards, and, of course, effective traps.

And what would the photos be without accompanying descriptive text? Well, they would mainly be nicely composed photos that deliver very little in terms of actual functional value. The text writing in this book provides very helpful insights into the material presented in the photo illustrations. You do not ever need to feel confused or lost in regards to the material offered in the book. The writing is top notch and always drives its point home in an effective manner.

So, if you are looking for a good, basic, introductory guide to this subject, The Trapper’s Bible: Traps, Snares & Pathguards by Dale Martin may prove to be an outstanding selection. Anyone interested in increasing their knowledge of this subject is well advised to buy a copy.
