    What are you listening to

Ive started jamming to some of the old 80's and early 90's again with some Breeders, Sepultura (when at the gym, need speed metal motivation!) and slipping back in the 70's with Yes. REALLY digging those old Yes albums.....thank you youtube and pandora!

What is your absolute favorite outdoor activity?

Yardwork.....yeah right! Backpacking hands down, unless I have a chance to do some trout fishing the with my dad. I know those days wont last forever and he's getting long in the ol tooth, so those times are treasured.

    Down from the Mountain

They're always in search for a common food source, so it could be weather related....OR the bucks are getting to the point in the season when they got one thing on their minds!

    Walking through the leaves

Yep..get to start seeing more wildlife too while on trail. Oh yeah, and when the leaves are a crunchin' that means the bugs are close to going to bed for the winter....Oh yeah!

Forget about the gym to stay in hiking/bping shape!

Well, Ive never been one to spend more time at the gym instead of hiking to stay fit, but this year so far has had me doing more incline treadmill and stair machine than usual due to work schedule. Here's the scoop-Went backpacking this weekend and even being in the best shape of my life, hurt...

Do YOU have to have the best equipment for camping/hiking? Opinions...

Im starting to notice that with my hammocking there are no low cost shortcuts of "Ahhh, this'll do!" Your rear end will be sweeping the dirt if you're not all in with suspensions and such:)

    Deep Gap/Art Loeb, NC

"Dont count on someone elses instruction, they may be wrong".....yeah, do I know this way to well. I REALLY wanted to be convinced the Art Loeb area wasnt all that bad to navigate as Its definitely on the bucket list! Thanks for the report and great pics!

    Hammock Camping

Nice set up with pics, Briansnat. In the first pic, I would be on the ground by morning with my slap straps they stretch so stinkin bad. I definitely need to work on my suspension. I have to hang between chest and waist to make sure Im not draggin the dirt by morning!

    Hammock Camping

I guess what makes it most appealing to me is the ease of the set up. Not like my tent is all that bad, but I can seriously have my hammock swinging in about 90seconds not including my tarp and ridgeline, which really only come out if theres a chance of rain. I sleep better in my hammock than my...
