    Best air rifle

The air rifle that I have is a Crosman. I think that brand has been around for as long as I can remember. I bought that rifle about 30 years ago and it's still great to use. Even added a scope to it.

    Coon, anyone?

I'm always willing to try new things even if I know what I'm eating. I'm kind of adventurous that way. While watching tv one day, I saw a show where the host was in the south and they cook was preparing raccoon. Thought it looked really good.

    Muskie Fishing

Although there's a lake about 90 minutes from where I live that has muskie I've never tried fishing for them. I did see a guy catch one before and the rig he had was quite impressive. Because of their sharp teeth, he had a steel leader, something I had never seen.

    Survival Knife

What I'd do Southergal is go into the stores, see what the store clerks would recommend and then do some online research to see what people think about the knives. Once you find one that gets good reviews, you can make your purchase.

    Bitten by Snake

First aid is just one of those things that all of us should be prepared for when we head out into nature. The old method of treating snake bites was to cut the bite area and bleed out the venom but I'm not sure if that is still applicable.

    Crowded camping

I try to avoid camping over holiday weekends like Memorial Day because it tends to get way too busy for my liking. I usually like it when I can get away from people and just enjoy nature.

    Crimping barbs

Hooking yourself is just one of those things that happens occasionally to almost every fisherman. You never plan on doing it - it just kind of happens.

What do you consider trash fish?

Gotta admit that I like fishing for carp just because they put up a really good fight. Once I catch them, I throw them back into the water since they're of no use to me.

    Rivers or lakes and ponds

I don't really care as long as there's water. Fishing is always fun to me regardless of whether it's in a lake or a river.

What do you consider trash fish?

In your part of the country, what kind of fish falls into the category of trash fish? Where I'm from, we generally don't keep carp since they're bottom feeders but the funny thing is we'll keep catfish.

Dogs In The Back Of Pick ups

It's always worried me that something would happen to the dog whenever I see dogs in the back of pickup trucks. There is always a safer place like inside with the driver.

    Crimping barbs

That's true the fish can get off the hook easier but I'd rather have that happen than injure the fish. The other benefit of a barbless hook is that if you hook yourself, it's easier to remove the hook.

    Crimping barbs

This is a little tip I learned so when I want to remove a hook from a fish, it can be done easily with minimal damage to the fish. All you need to do is get some needle nose pliers and crimp the barbs.

    Fishing Off The Pier

When I used to live in San Francisco, my dad and I would go pier fishing and use raw shrimp. Sometimes we'd catch crab but most of the time it was bullheads.

    Eating in the tent?

I can totally agree with you on this. There have been some bear problems around the area where I live so keeping food out of the tent is just the smart thing to do.

    Training Wheels

There was once a time when you could get them because that was the only size bike you could get before companies started coming out with smaller bikes. I'd check Wal-mart or even search online.

    Building Endurance

Running is always a good way to build up the lungs and help you with your endurance. As Bumpkin stated, squats and lunges will work, too.

    Could You?

I think we could survive for a few days but that's about it. The disasters that have taken place around the world have made me realize that relief workers won't get to me soon enough so I'll have to take care of things on my own.

    Fire starter gel

Hey Jason, another method of getting fires going easily is to get a bag of Fritos corn chips and get a few of those going. My son and I did that and we were just amazed at how well they burn and how much grease is released - yuck! LOL

    Float tubes

Has anyone else ever used a float tube? I can't afford a boat so I went the next best route and that was to buy a float tube. Great way to be out where the fish are.
