Boys grow up and Men get old. After eleven years it was time for me
to move to the front and let Malcolm take over.
And that's okay with me - he earned his paddle.

nice post man! I remember what an honor it was to sit in the back when paddling and the front of a fishing boat with a skul. skulling for daddy ad grand pa was mainly so they could fish freely and complain about my paddling when they felt I was keeping their end off the fish.
