I couldn't find the coffee maker thread that's been going on for a long time. I think the cowboy way to make coffee, like ppine (i think it was ppine) mentioned using no filter, this should be same thing as the French press way. I've been making coffee in my French press for past couple of weeks. Love it, but I was wondering if the caffeine content is higher than if I made in a drip maker? Also I've been slinging the grounds out in the yard because I wonder if they may be bad to wash down the drain to the septic system.

Boiled coffee (without filtration) works... used it when the percolator was forgotten (coffee bags also work, kind of).
However, I would much rather minimize the amount of grounds with a percolator (camping) or drip type coffee maker (home)... Never tried a French press as I am not that much of a coffee aficionado/caffeine addict...

Enjoy!
