Is crossbow a good option for hunting? What type of crossbow is better to use?

lots of variables,
location, game, purpose of hunting, etc,
for myself not a fan of crossbows, too dang big and heavy to be practical
for higher success rate, gun is better, for sport I enjoy bow hunting,
I prefer gun hunting for food, and bow hunting for extended seasons and for sport,

Well, they've made crossbows smaller and lighter. I have one but I haven't used it in about five years. They're fun and accurate but have limited range. Also you have to be able to draw and lock them. Mine's only a 120lb. draw so it's still easy. And I can still draw my buddy's, which is 150. They go higher. I still like my recurve better.
