Fishing In The Rain

I was always told if you fish in the rain you won't catch anything as they fish get all of the worms and bugs which fall from the trees into the water. Is this true or is it OK to fish in the rain? Can you still catch fish while it's raining?

I have had good luck fishing in the rain. Not to mention is is much cooler in the summer.
