kayak repair - HELP

I have been givin a 98 pryanha kayak.
it has a 8 inch slit in the bow..
how do I repair... or do i make it a planter for the yard.........

This will make for an ugly repair job...clean and smooth out the slit a bit, heat the area with a hair dryer, then apply JB Weld Marine epoxy building it up slowly. Then sand to smooth it out....
