Pants do you climb in?

This type of post could be a repost, and if it is I apologize. But I'm wondering what type of climbing pants people prefer to climb in? Personally I usually wear either basketball shorts or sweatpants, but I feel like I could be missing out on something better.

I don't know if it's a repost or not, but don't matter. That is an issue that warrants a re-discussion frequently.

I usually wear shorts because it's cooler, temperature wise, and they allow me to move comfortably. I have worn stretch jeans, and was surprised at how good they felt and let me move well. I think they had more spandex then cotton in the material. They claim to avoid cotton for out door activities.

I'm no expert tho.

I'm no climber except the mountains you can just walk up so I reverted to a couple of my fb friends. My observation of their posted pics show everything from shorts to insulated tech pants on the big mountains. I suppose whatever works depending on altitude, climate and conditions.
