Using Local Produce When Camping

Camping should be a "green" activity – but the packaged, dried and tinned food plus their cooking equipment is not very green.

In 2011 I'm going to buy more locally produced food and generally support local business more.

It seems like the right thing to do - but will it help climate change as well as the local economies ?

That sounds like a great resolution for 2011 to me. It will certainly help the local economies of the places that you visit. I don't know if it will help climate change .... I've thought of using public transport instead of my own car to get to areas that I want to visit but it would not always be possible.

I agree that the more we can support local environs the better off we'll be. Local crops are often cared for in better ways, too. Certified organic is a good thing to try to do, too.
