Wow, that is something I've never heard. We went camping and we tried this and it was wonderful. To be honest I think I came away with 2 mosquito bites for the whole camping trip (the weekend). I'd say give it a try!

Myrtle beach is one of my favorite places to visit, off-season of course. I love the beach, not much of a fisher there though. How was the trip? I bet the grnadkids loved it.

It depends on how long we are camping and where we are camping. If I can run to a store in the middle of a long camping trip, I will take little meat. If I can't I take a lot and frozen and buy ice often.

I've gotten many sparks on me from the campfire but never actually burned from the fire. Ouch- glad you are ok. You have to be more careful. We are really careful around the campfire. You can never be too careful around any fire.

This is something I never would have thought about. Thanks for the tips. I want to go snorkeling and my husband has a goatee. I didn't even think about him having problems with stuff getting into it in the water.

That stinks! I bet you can find a repair kit at a store for tents. Not sure how well it would work if it rained but I'm thinking it would be ok. Heck you can buy repair kits for many things. Good luck finding one!

What kinds of animals have you seen when camping? What did you do to get away from them safely? I've never seen any bears when camping, but we've seen a lot of deer. They usually just run when they see us. I would love to hear stories about what you have seen out there.

I'm not sure about this. I should check it out though, as we go all the time to state parks. Wow what a savings it would be. Sometimes we go later in the day so we don't have to pay to get in.

We don't use any tarp to cover our tent either. It doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't it make it really hot in the tent with a tarp on it? Trapping in the heat? I would think this would be ok in the colder nights but not in the summer?

These sound really great. I'm going to grab some different candy bars and substitute. I don't like plain hersheys chocolate so I usually skip the chocolate on the S'more. I bet with a milky way or carmello I would love the chocolate again. Thanks for the tip!

Tinfoil on corn in the campfire? I don't use tin foil. We just keep the husks on and keep turning the corn in the campfire (coals of course). I think the only way to know when something is done when using foil, is to open it up and look at it.

A friend of mine said she would like to go white water tubing. I have never done this and didn't really think there was any such thing. She said instead of a raft or big inflatable boat (raft) you go individual on tubes? Anyone hear of this? Anyone do this? Sounds way more scarier to me.

I want to hear where you think is the best place to white water raft. Which rivers are the best and why? We are planning our vacation next year and would like to go whit water rafting. Can't wait to hear all about them.

We only have the shift gear ones too. I have seen the others though. They look more easy to ride, no shifting required. Maybe they would be better for kids just learning.
