What do you eat every trip?

Even growing up we had at least one or two meals that we had every single time that we went camping. Now that I am the one doing the cooking we always have beef stew in the dutch oven one night, and we always roast hot dogs and make smore's on the fire one night. What foods do you eat on every...

    No Power

About half way through my first cup of coffee this morning our power went out and stayed out for over four hours! I didn't really miss the tv or the computer, but I did miss the rest of my coffee and being able to make our regular big Saturday breakfast for my kids.

Has anyone else heard about the bacon shortage that may or may not be ahead? Two days ago there were stories about the impending porkacolypse, and now "experts" are saying that there will be bacon a plenty...if you are willing to pay through the nose for it.

    Loving this weather

After weeks of high humidity, high temperatures, and rain nearly every day we finally have some good weather. The temperatures haven't gotten above 80, and there is no humidity which for GA is newsworthy this time of year. We are planning a couple of outdoor adventures this week to take...

Chicago gun buyback unwittingly funds the NRA

A gun buyback program in Chicago has been used to supply firearms and ammunition for a youth NRA summer camp. Here is the article I saw about it. I thought it was a really great idea that these guys had. The Chicago police were not amused though. :)

    Tomato Rot

I know we have some gardners here, and I could use some help. We have a ton of beautiful tomatoes...except for the black spots they keep getting on the bottom. My mom said that she thinks it is called "tomato rot", but she didn't know how to fix it. I don't want to lose my whole crop I was...

    Got my permit

For those of you who like to be prepared for a variety of possible scenarios I read an interesting article about baking soda the other day.
