Burnt tomatoes? Interesting! I wonder if you cook them on a gas grill, if you will get the same effect. Gonna have to try them. I have found some really good recipes on this forum. Better than a cookbook. :)

When I can't sleep, I do the same, either read a book or I will get online. If it gets really bad, sometimes I will take a night aid to help me sleep. I have times where my insomnia is horrible.

We either hang our trash in a tree or put it in the back of our car at night. We usually burn any left over food as well, that way we don't have it sitting around just waiting for the animals to pounce on it.

I love potatoes with cheese on them. I like to use the nacho cheese. The kind that you melt in the microwave and pour over nachos. You do the chunk up cooked potatoes and pour the cheese over them. Then add bacon bits and sour cream and you have loaded potatoes. YUM!

I believe we are going camping Labor Day weekend. It will be the last weekend for us. The winter cold is not that far away. Where we go camping turns into tons of snowmobile trails then. Kind of hard to put a tent out then. :)

I think this game would be great to use in the winter time, or even on the days that you can't get out there and go fishing. I know my other half would love it. He loves fishing and goes every minute he can, but there are times we can't get there. This would be a great fill in.

Now is the time of year to pay attention to your local newspaper. Many people like to get rid of them right before winter, so they don't have to store them. I would just keep an eye out in the classified section or your paper. Or you could even check craiglist online.

We still hold conversation. I just don't like when I am trying to fish and the kids are splashing around in the water. It tends to scare them away.

I usually bring frozen meat. I plan ahead. I use it for the coldness in the cooler and it has time to thaw usually before I use it. I have never had any meat go bad on me.

I am guilty of this. :) I bring the dvd player for the kids. It isn't like they sit and watch it the whole time. You are right though, it helps when it rains. They are not so bored then.
