    Pop up Camper Air Conditioner

You could always look at the breaker panel to see what size breaker serves the A/C unit.

What to do if you encounter a hyena while hiking?

With all due respect, I think I'll stick with the Coyotes for year-round hunting opportunities, TYVM

What to do if you encounter a hyena while hiking?

I'd wonder just how the Hell Hyenas ended up in WV, or conversely, how the Hell I ended up in Africa....

    Who says they're not dangerous...??

Anything that weighs as much or more than I do, has teeth longer than mine, and claws strong enough to climb a tree deserves my respect and a wide berth. Never had a close encounter with one, closest I ever came was seeing the south end of a northbound bear as I came around a corner on a...

    Vegetarian eaten by animals...??

Sad, but not unexpected. People raised on Disney-ized views of nature often end up like this.

    Greetings

We've spun a few tall tales here. I think we can handle yours. :-D

    Backpacking Life Goals

Oh jeeze- I don't know. Some sections of the AT, Isle Royale in Lake Superior, Grand Canyon, Alaska. Maybe see more of Yosemite, and Acadia. I suppose I'd have to say that my goal would be to grab opportunities to be out as they come along. Sort of like this video: O2 - Be more dog - YouTube

What drives you up the wall?

Oh my yes! That pounding beat, stupid vile repetitious "lyrics" shows just how debased our culture has become. The "c" in (c)rap is silent.

    Have You Ever Gotten Lost?

Never been so lost that I couldn't have put a finger on the map within say 1/4 mile of my actual position. I've been pretty well turned around a few times to the point that I had a tough time orienting myself. (one particular time, in the flat woods of northern lower Michigan on a cloudy...

    Reinventing the fastest forgotten archery.

Very interesting technique. Difficult to master for sure, but devastatingly effective on an all-archery battlefield.

    Machine Converts Trash to Oil

It's possible, but not simple. I've worked in the chemical industry most of my working life, and if something like that was practical it would already have been commercialized BY the big companies. Anyway- just how much plastic is in your recycling bin every week? lets say it's 50 lbs.-(and...

    Machine Converts Trash to Oil

I know that Union Carbide spent a LOT of money over the years to try to convert trash to gas and oil, as well as coal liquefaction. They actually built a demonstration project in South Charleston WV to convert trash to gas. It was an economic failure. At some point, I suppose, the price of oil...

    Canoe or kayak?

Beginning to seem that way. For my money, they are similar but different tools, like a claw hammer and a ball-peen hammer. you can use either one for some things, but one or the other excels at certain things. Beyond that, it's largely a matter of taste , and "de gustibus non est dispuntandum".

Laws for carrying a spring assisted knife?

They're kind of handy since you can open them one-handed whilst holding something that needs cutting. I have a Gerber FAST for my EDC knife. It really doesn't make much more noise than the old Buck Folding Hunter that I used to carry. I'd worked that one until I could open it one-handed with a...

    Other than pictures

I've taken an interesting stone or an arrowhead now and then. Like everyone else, I've packed our other people's trash. Once on an overnighter, my hiking partner and I cleaned up an adjacent campsite. We must've burned 5 pounds of paper and crap and packed out a few more in glass bottles and...

    Perch Fishing

I'm a bit too far south here in Central WV for Perch. Lots of places in Ohio and north of me though.

    Canoe or kayak?

Six-eight feet is not uncommon around here. We have lots of small streams draining a large area, and a downpour can raise water levels quite a bit in a few hours. Even the big rivers like the Ohio, New and Kanawha can fluctuate quite a lot.

    Air Rifles

I had an old Crosman pump that shot BB's or pellets. At 20 yards or so using a pellet, it was easily capable of decapitating a pigeon or starling with a good hit. Air rifles are capable of taking big game. Lewis and Clark took game as large as elk with one. Girandoni Air Rifle - Wikipedia...
