I have 40 acres of pasture land that I keep my horses on. I also keep horses for a few friends of mine on my land during certain times of the year when they are away on vacation. I don't see the point in having horses if you are just going to board them somewhere.

I have a 2009 Kawasaki Mule 4010. It is diesel and 4x4. I would go with diesel if you need a worker but if you just need a toy then gas is going to be cheaper on you for repairs and maintenance when it comes time.

Well that is usually what I do with the rats. Just toss them in the compost bin I have out by the corral so I suppose I could do that with the gophers too. Good idea. They aren't much bigger than the rats I've been catching so shouldn't be any different and the opposums can't get in my bin. ;)

I've had a bad run in with the gophers and my garden the last couple weeks. I went and bought all new traps and I've set them out this evening. Now I wonder if any of you know of anything to do with dead gophers? Of course I wouldn't dare eat them but I hate killing something and not having...

I can't imagine going more than a week without riding. I rarely go more than a few days mostly. I give you this though, an unfamiliar saddle, especially a side saddle or otherwise too large or small of a saddle makes for rough riding no matter how seasoned of a rider you are.

Sorry that the horse was killed but I am a firm believer that all horses can be broken. I've been breaking horses for as long as I can remember. There are some that are stubborn and refuse to learn like others but just like a kid you have to find their weakness and use that to encourage...
