Guess What We Found

My husband and I went to pick apples today and guess what we found. A nice big, brown egg. Seems like a Rhode Island Red hen of one of the neighbors, had wandered into my cousin's place and taken up residence under the apple tree. The neighbor came and got her but she left this "surprise" for us. I don't know how old the egg is so we didn't bring it home, but it was a nice surprise.

thats pretty cool have u checked on it and u shpuld ask u neighboors if the hens are fertile cause if they are then no chick and u can eat the egg just like from a store

Uh... the fertility of hens doesn't matter, as long as they're laying you can eat the eggs. As long as there isn't a rooster around you're safe to eat every egg!

I don't think you want to eat it right? Are you trying to see if it will hatch? That would be pretty cool. I love watching eggs hatch - and then the baby birds getting fed.
