Ramps

Does anyone else like ramps? They're sort of like garlic but not quite as strong. You take the leaves and chop them up and saute' them in oil. Very good. A lot of people use vinegar as a dressing on them too. I love them but they are pretty strong. I think they are more like an acquired taste.

We have a Ramp festival here at Mt Rogers VA. 4 miles from my home and the nearest Ramps are approx 200 yards away.
Every early spring several of us go to Cranberry Glades Wilderness in WV and fish for trout and eat Ramps...Trout and potatoes...

Have enjoyed ramps when in Upstate NY. Spring trout and ramps...yup, good stuff. Very fortunate if fiddleheads are out also.
