We are fairly new car campers (2nd year).
I was considering purchasing a screen shelter for meals etc.
I thought if I could find one that would also work
for playing board games and cards in on rainy days that
would be a smart purchase. Browsing Amazon I don't see any
that suitable for shelter from the rain. Wondering what most
families with young kids do when it rains?

Thanks!

We bought a screened in shelter for long camping trip at Costco. Its 12' by 12' We set our table and chairs in it sometimes in the evening to get away from bugs. We have a favorite spot by a lake we go to for two weeks of the summer and the bugs are horrible. With kids it would be a plus. We paid around $69.00 and its called a quik set up no assembly just pops up.

We were thinking about getting one. I do not know what it is, but this year there are already a TON of mosquitoes and flies around here. They are bigger than usual as well. I think it would be cheaper to buy one of these than ten gallons of bug spray.

Good tip on Costco, love me some Costco;)

Has anyone had experience with these shelters
during a mild to moderate rainshower?

I would like to find one that would
hold up to a rainshower.

Thanks,
Sharon

It does come in handy if you don't want to get wet. I've seen some great stuff at Costco, especially if you aren't going to be using it a whole lot.

12' by 12' is not a bad size, I would suggest setting it up once at home before you head out. We too forever getting ours together and I wish we would have practiced before the trip was underway!
