Is there one particular item that you've had for as long as you can remember that you bring with you on every trip, that you can't even think about replacing? Maybe something you were given as a kid, or passed down to you from your parent....

For me, it's my favorite utility knife. It always comes in so handy at some point during each trip. Just sharpen it every once in a while and we're good to go.

I have a flannel shirt that I always bring that I've been wearing since I was in high school. And, yes, it still fits!

This will sound very silly but it is an elastic washing line with clips on either end to fix it to whatever is available. it is very handy if clothes get damp and need to hang to dry. I have had it for at least 20 years.

We have a dutch oven that we bring camping each and every time that we've had for years and years. I think it will be a part of our families camping tradition for as long as we can lug it around.

Oh, I also make sure to bring plenty of rope. I always find something to do with it. For some reason, I just love hanging things up.
