We have a horse we have always kept here with us. Things are getting very busy around here and I am crunched for time. I was thinking about boarding the horse. How do you find a good boarding place for a horse that you dearly love?

If you live in a small town or rural area, just start asking around. Word will get out in no time. Even you local Craigs List should get you some results.

As for the safety of your horse the best thing you can do is ask a lot of questions. You should be able to go and look at the stables as well as check in or drop by at any time to see your horse.

Location is also something you want to consider. You may not want your horse to be far. You may want to get a map and draw a circle around your house. This way you can figure out which ones are with in the range you want.

You might offer to let someone ride him and use him for boarding him. If you have to pay to board, it can get really expensive. However, if you can find a family that would enjoy him and be kind to him, it would work out great for you and them, too.
