Got my new rod and reel setup

I got the new beginner's kit from my cousin the other night and have put on the new line he said I needed. I think I'm ready to go fishing now. I'm excited! Finally a rod of my own!

:tinysmile_fatgrin_t That is awesome... I hope you have beginners luck when you take out the rod the first time. Where do you live? Right now the lakes are mostly frozen around me. I'm not great at ice fishing yet.

Awesome! Did you end up getting the Shakespeare kit or what was it a Zebco? My memory isn't as good as it once was and I'm too lazy to try to figure out where I read about the one you mentioned lol.

This one that he brought is a Shakespeare one and it has all types of different lures and weights and such. We changed the line out because it was to easy to break but other than that it looks like something I can manage to use properly. LOL

They are a great brand and it should last you a good long while too. You will want to buy some other jigs and worms for bait and some various sized hooks too.
