Just a beautiful morning here...

My son and I planned a 3.5 mile hike this morning and got up about 0600 to see nature waking up when the sun came up. The hike was wonderful, the time spent with him was priceless...

Then, we split some old oak for firewood tonight and we'll get the family together in the backyard for hot dogs on a stick and some marshmallows for the kids.

I think today is going to be a great day- hope everyone else has a super day, too.

My son leaves in two weeks for USMC Recruit Training.
I hope to get out for a nice long day hike with him before he leaves.

Cherish those moments. In a flash, they are grown and have to get on with their lives, where ever that might take them.

My sister gets to pick up her son for Thanksgiving for a few days leave (marine boot camp) and she is thrilled. Being able to spend time with all family is great, esp. when you can share great journeys too.
