Is anyone out there planning to cook in dutch ovens outside for Thanksgiving?
I am going with a turkey breast surrounded by Cornish game hens with wild rice and wild mushrooms.

No, but it's definitely an idea to keep in mind. When we break out the ovens, we usually use them for desserts (cobbler or dump cake) and meals like chili, spaghetti, pot pies, etc. Please let us know how it turns out!

That sounds wonderful. We might have some scalloped potatoes in our dutch oven. Other than that, no. Everything will be cooked in our oven or on the stove.

I haven't really thought to do some turkey in ours but I do love to do some beef roasts in them with lots of potatoes and carrots and other veggies. They just always turn out so good when cooked like that. :)

I have heard that a family has their thanksgiving dinner, regardless of the weather, in one of the campgrounds at Custer State Park, South Dakota. I imagine Dutch ovens are involved :)
