Frozen Waterfalls

I trekked into the woods today for a walk and I could not get over how amazing the waterfalls look frozen. Have you ever seen any frozen waterfalls?

I have seen one, I have a bunch of pictures of it I'll have to find which computer they're on.

It's an amazing site, and completely worth the cold hike.

I have a few pics too. Most of the places to hike to in my area are waterfalls. They are amazing to watch and listen to when the weather gets better.

Have you seen any of the Videos. Climbing frozen water falls is now one the the hot climbs. There are many vids on you tube.

Love 'em! They are awesome! Especially when you hear the water underneath.

I have seen one, but the water fall was not frozen going down. Instead it made a giant icicle starting from the ground. Looked like a giant ice stone reaching towards the sky. It was really beautiful..

Niagara falls are the only 'falls' I have seen while frozen. Not to many water falls in PA unfortunately.

I went looking through my pictures and found some from the nearby shore. It looks so amazing as ice. I don't have one of not iced up right now.

Thanks. My area is loaded with them, they are beautiful all year round. One hike we do often boasts 5 or 6 smaller waterfalls that link into a huge waterfall, very nice to look at as well.

I have never seen a frozen waterfall... as a matter of fact, I didin't even know that waterfalls could freeze! What an amazing sight that must be. How long do they stay frozen? Is it through December, January, February or longer?
